11 Days of Service

Christ’s heart is clearly seen when we are reaching beyond ourselves and serving others. It’s why, at Christ Church, one of our core values is to “Live a Life of Servanthood,” so that all might come to know the love of Christ through our love for others. 
During the months of September, October and November, Christ Church will celebrate “11 Days of Service” by inviting Community Groups, families, and individuals to serve by signing up for one of the projects below. 
Alternatively, you may choose to plan a different outreach event on a day that works better for you or your group—perhaps focused on a cause you care deeply about. If you’d like suggestions for local organizations to partner with, feel free to reach out to Whitney Bohn,
Service Opportunities:
“Trunk or Treat” for Asbell Elementary 
Tuesday, October 28 | 6 - 7:30 p.m. | Asbell Elementary School 
Christ Church has a great partnership supporting Asbell Elementary in Fayetteville.
Description – We are inviting Community Groups, families and individuals to decorate their cars and pass out candy at Asbell, getting to know some of the great families and children at the school.
Number Needed: Unlimited
You can also help by donating non-scary costumes and gently used children's books. Collection bins will be available for costumes on Sunday, October 26.
Genesis Church Food Collection: Coat and Blanket Drive
Sunday, November 2 | 9:15 & 11 a.m. | Christ Church
Christ Church is partnering with Genesis Church to collect food, coats and blankets, to help people in desperate need in our community. Items needed: Saltine crackers, healthy snacks, canned meats, poptop meals (i.e. Ravioli, SpaghettiO's), peanut butter, Ramen Noodles, dog & cat food, toilet paper, sweats, jeans, sneakers, hats and gloves, coats of all sizes, and blankets.
For the Love Neighbor Night
Monday, November 3 | 4 - 7 p.m. | The Jones Center 
For the Love Neighbor Night is a fun block party where the community hangs out and enjoys a FREE meal!  It’s a great way to meet new neighbors, eat delicious food, have some fun, and share a little hope. Description: Expect fun music, great conversation, and a fast-paced environment while you help prep food, take orders, engage with the community and clean up!

Cancer Support Home
Saturday, November 8 | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. | Cancer Support Home
The Cancer Support Home exists to provide hope and comfort to those on a cancer journey.
Description – Volunteers will meet at the Cancer Support Home (488 E. Longview St., Fayetteville) and help with landscaping and other items to beautify this place of healing and hope.

Furniture Friends
Saturday, November 15 | 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Furniture Friends Warehouse
Description: Furniture Friends (furniturefriends.co) is a local non-profit that provides furniture to International Students, many of whom arrive with nothing more than personal items and are literally sleeping on the floor. Volunteers will meet at Furniture Friends warehouse, 1312 W. Sunchase, Ct. #1, Fayetteville, and will deliver furniture to students in their apartments and have a chance to connect with them.
